The whole morning in English!.
The day started with an exchange of ideas about the culture in United States high schools. Afterwards we watched “Akeelah and the Bee”, an English spoken movie. The movie promoted a discussion about the necessary effort to achieve a goal and/or dream. It was a very nice and motivating experience for everyone.
The activity was organized by Prof. Lucía Charlo. It was a very motivating, fun and educational event for 1st and 2nd grade students who formed teams in order to talk about environmental care in each country. Many of them wore typical costumes of the country they represented.
We organized different sport activities for the occasion: football in mixed couples, playing tag in 3 teams, playing table tennis, ping pong, basketball and board games. We closed the week on Friday watching Uruguay play football together in the dining hall.
We celebrated Book Day with an activity coordinated by Spanish professor Graciela Munguía and Literature professor José Luis Gadea, with the support of the cultural entertainers’ workshop led by Prof. Mario Villagrán.
The goal was to expose the students’ to reading and writing from a different perspective, provided by several members of the institution. We also invited their families and had a great time. Thanks for participating!
This was a joint project from all 3rd graders, entirely based on the students’ motivation and theme unit Nº 2 from the “Technology and gadgets” textbook used in the classroom. The students, in teams, made a robot and a description of its specifications. It was a fun and educational activity.
Our 2nd grade students had their camp at Villa Bautista, Canelones. They had a great time in a natural environment and native flora! It was a special experience both for the students as well as the adults that went with them.
